This exhibition of photographs by František Drtikol continues the four-part series of events presenting European celebrities associated with Central Bohemia. The exhibition is dedicated to the work of one of the most important Czech photographers, František Drtikol (1883–1961), who rose to worldwide prominence in the 1920s. Visitors will be able to view photographs in the Art Deco spirit influenced by avant-garde stimuli and, in particular, Drtikol’s work from the time of the pictorial movement. The exhibition is rounded off with work linked to the artist’s focus on the spiritual teachings of the East. His well-known psychological portraits, unique nudes, numerous landscape compositions and other photographic genres will also be featured. The exhibition is complemented by a screening of František Drtikol – Photographer, a film about the artist’s life and work directed by Karel Holna.
